The town crier in full cry. Still Robin Hoods Bay Yorkshire UK. We still have quite a number of these guys active in the UK. Some areas can't get the internet yet!

Try riding one of these after a drink or two. Another from Robin Hoods Bay Yorkshire UK. For anyone who doesn't know the name comes from the large wheel representing an old English penny & the rear wheel a farthing.

This is one of the cobbled streets of Whitby Yorkshire UK. This was once a thriving fishing port, now mainly taken over by tourism.

This is a study in light & shade up on the Yorkshire (UK) moors. This is the sort of place referred to in the novel Wuthering Heights.

I think this statue is very expressive. It was taken at Gretna Green Scotland where people used to elope to when they were not allowed to marry by their parents

This is a guy called Fungus. He resides in a place called Dingle Bay in Southern Ireland. The boatman that takes you out into the bay says he will give you your money back if Fungus does not show. I don't think anyone has needed a refund yet. In case anyone hasn't guessed it's actually a dolphin!

This used to be the Titanic ticket office in Cobh near Cork Ireland
It is now a restaurant. The final passengers for the first sailing would have passed through here.

This seems to be all that is left of the Titanic landing stage at Cobh Ireland. It is attached to what used to be the Cunard White Star ticket office. (which is now a restaurant) see next pic
Sad to see a piece of history in this state

Here's one for our American friends. A piece of history I guess. This is attached to the wall at Cobh Railway station in Southern Ireland near Cork. This station is where the passengers for the Titanic would have travelled to in order to board the ship. Cobh is pronounced Cove by the way.

This was the view from the patio of a little villa we stayed at overlooking the village of Moncarapacho in Southern Portugal. In the far distance is where Olao and the sea begin. Turn left for Spain.
This is one of the Barbery apes of Gibraltar. The legend is that if these apes leave Gib then so will the Brits. I guess the Spanish would say hurry up and go apes!
Barbary Ape Gibraltar.

This is the marshaling yard of the Snowdonia mountain railway. I thought the B/W effect looked rather dramatic

This was the setting for a film about the slave trade. It was shot in a place called Charlestown in Cornwall, England. They have several sailing ships permanently based here so with the harbour setting it is a film makers paradise.
