Another Unique Lalique

Here is another piece by Lalique. It is believed to be the only full sized glass font in the world. Perhaps I should explain. In 1934 Lady Florence Trent commissioned Rene Lalique of Paris, France to refurbish the interior of St Matthew's Church, Jersey, Channel Islands UK. This was in memory of her late husband Jesse Boot who was the founder of "Boots the Chemists" the well know drug store chain. The glasswork within the church is unique and consists of this font, all the windows (doors included), the altar, or communion table, a glass cross over 4 metres high flanked by glass pillars, also various screens and other glasswork.
